Kathy Griffin posed holding President Donald Trump’s bloodied, severed head, in a photo published by TMZ.
In a shoot with celebrity photographer Tyler Shields, known for shocking photos, Griffin holds up a model of the president’s severed head.
According to TMZ, “Kathy joked that she and Tyler would need to move to Mexico once the pics got released, for fear they’d be thrown in prison.”
Shields made a similar joke on Twitter on Friday:
Can you go to jail for making an artistic statement??? Asking for a friend… @kathygriffin

The photo drew an immediate backlash on social media, with many criticizing the celebration the beheading the president of the United States.
The photo is reminiscent of rapper Snoop Dogg’s mock-shooting of a Trump stand-in in a music video. The video received widespread condemnation, and even piqued the interest of the Secret Service — though Snoop Dogg was not forced to flee to Mexico.
