“Fight Club” Author Says Lefty “Snowflakes” Need To “Stop Being So Offended”

“Fight Club” Author Says Lefty “Snowflakes” Need To “Stop Being So Offended”

Chuck Palahniuk, author of “Fight Club,” believes that people are now more easily offended than ever, and a term taken from his 1996 novel is making a resurgence because of it.

“There is a kind of new Victorianism. Every generation gets offended by different things but my friends who teach in high school tell me that their students are very easily offended,” the author told the Evening Standard Tuesday.

As far as those getting offended when it comes to politics, Palahniuk thinks it’s more of a problem for liberals.

“The modern Left is always reacting to things,” he said. “Once they get their show on the road culturally they will stop being so offended.”

Trump supporters recently began referring to overly sensitive liberals as “snowflakes,” and Palahniuk confirmed that the slighting term “does come from Fight Club.”

“There is a line, ‘You are not special. You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake,” the author quoted from his book.

Palahniuk introduced the term in his novel that was later dramatized in the 1999 psycho-thriller film adaptation starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton.
