WOW! ANOTHER Democrat Leader Has Flipped To The Republican Party!

WOW! ANOTHER Democrat Leader Has Flipped To The Republican Party!

There has now been a growing trend of Democrats defecting, and yet another one has flipped to the Republican party…

Democratic lawmakers continue to switch parties, and this has been happening on a surprising regularity in the last year.

Harriet Holman is the latest example.

As a council member in Dorchester County, South Carolina, she knows that she has a massive responsibility towards her constituents. However, she has announced that she can no longer stay a Democrat.

Of course, this all begs the question: what brought about this change? Holman explains it below:

“Some things that I had looked at, that I just didn’t agree with any longer,” Holman said on Fox News.

“One of the things was that I am just totally pro-life, and I am about capitalism, and I am for funding the police. And so those things are what made me make my final decision,” she added.

Holman was first elected as a Democrat in 2019, but since then, she has been watching things going on throughout our country, and she couldn’t help but disagree with this current iteration of the Democrat party.

“I have looked at things that are going on in the country right now, and some things I don’t agree with, and I agree with the Republican agenda,” Holman said, WCSC reported.

“I decided to make the switch because first, it was in my heart. I am a conservative, and I have been living that lifestyle for years.”

Another reason for her decision is because Holman is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Army and she has considered making this party switch for at least six months now.

Harriet made the switch clear to all of her constituents in Dorchester County and said that she really is not changing anything that she previously stood for; she is just changing the political party that she aligns with.

“I have talked to my constituents, and one thing that my constituents know is that I am still Harriet Holman,” Holman told WCSC. “There’s an ‘R’ behind my name, but I still work and am a servant for the people in Dorchester County.”

Holman is just one example of many who are making a party switch though.

In 2021, there were several state lawmakers that made the switch from Democrat to Republican, according to Ballotpedia.

There were four Democrats in different state Houses of Representatives that made the switch from Democrat to Republican.

However, even outside of politicians, there has been an overall shift in American politics.

Gallup reported last January that political loyalties shifted from a nine-point Democrat advantage to a five-point Republican advantage, and that is part of the reason that many expect there to be a “red wave” of Republican favor in the 2022 midterms.

Even Mike Bloomberg is getting into the act, saying that the Dems need to cut down on the political correctness if they hope to win ever again.

This has truly been a drastic and fast shift away from the Democrats.

It was in the first quarter of 2021 that Democrats held the largest lead that the party had seen since the fourth quarter of 2012, according to Gallup.

Gallup noted that the shift in voter opinion is tied to the views of President Biden and former President Trump. When Democrats held the advantage at the dawn of 20121, the approval numbers for President Biden were pretty high.

After they contend with COVID, the rising inflation, and the less-than-perfect Afghanistan withdrawal, Biden’s number began sagging and the lead of his party followed suit.

This trend is going to continue over the next few months, and everyone is going to be watching the midterm elections to determine which party the Americans are going to favor this time.

Holman defecting could be just the first of many.
