Former President George H.W. Bush and his wife Barbara Bush were driven out on to the field at NRG Stadium Sunday night prior to the coin toss of Super Bowl LI, to a raucous ovation from the crowd on hand in their hometown of Houston.
The 41st President was released from the hospital on Jan. 30 following a bout with pneumonia.
The couple was received warmly by the crowd. Even normally stoic New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick could be seen applauding.
