Grammy Winning Singer: No One Cares What Celebrities Think Of Trump

Singer Rob Thomas says no one should care what he thinks about President Donald Trump and he doesn’t care what other celebrities think, either.

“I’m not a fan of Donald Trump, but I am so tired of hearing celebrities talk about not being a fan of Donald Trump, that it almost seems like white noise,” said Thomas, who is best known as the lead singer of Matchbox Twenty, reports The Hill. “I think that he’s a man that’s not really equipped for the job, but I think no one really cares what I think about that.”

Thomas added: “I have opinions, but my opinions are as a 45-year-old husband, father, taxpayer. No matter what I say, they always kind of come across as a guy who sings music and it’s always, ‘Well you need to shut up!'”

Thomas said that no matter what he says, there will be somebody who disagrees, so it’s pointless to offer those opinions.

“I think that there is a huge part of his base that thinks he’s killing it right now,” Thomas said about Trump. “And it’s really hard to speak against that because somewhere somebody thinks he’s right. Not me.”

Other celebrities are not as demure as Thomas when it comes to voicing their opinion about Trump.

Actor George Clooney was a vocal critic of Trump and even held million-dollar fundraisers for his opponent, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

“He’s just an opportunist. Now he’s a fascist; a xenophobic fascist,” Clooney said of Trump in March 2016 in an interview with The Guardian.

At the time, Clooney believed Clinton would win.

“You can count on Americans to do the right thing after they’ve exhausted all the other possibilities,” he said.

After Trump beat Clinton, Clooney continued to slam the president as a hypocrite and his supporters as ignorant for following a president who represents what they claim to be against: the so-called “Hollywood elite.”

“This is the part that makes me a little crazy,” Clooney told French TV station CanalPlus, according to Gossip Cop. “When [Actress Meryl Streep] spoke, everyone on that one side was like, ‘Well, Hollywood elitist Hollywood speaking.’ Donald Trump has 22 acting credits. He collects $120,000 a year from a Screen Actor’s Guild pension fund. He is a Hollywood elitist.”

Former “Star Trek” actor George Takei is a celebrity who often has choice words for Trump and, like the president, often takes to Twitter to voice his opinions.

“Trump is a cancer on our democracy,” Takei wrote. “He must be rejected by all patriots, for the good of our national identity and values.”
