The movie “Black Hawk Down” is considered one of the greatest war movies ever made, and one of the most powerful scenes is two American snipers saving a downed helicopter.
Delta Force snipers Gary Gordon and Randall Shughart were killed while holding off a massive attack force to protect pilot Mike Durant during the Battle of Mogadishu.
Their brave actions were chronicled in “Black Hawk Down.” The two brave snipers held off for as long as they could before being killed in action.
