On Wednesday afternoon, a carjacking incident occurred on Capitol Hill’s eastern end, resulting in the victimization of an FBI agent.

After verifying that the incident took place during the day, the FBI and the Carjacking Task Force of the Metropolitan Police Department began working together to conduct an investigation.

The FBI verified the carjacking in a formal document that NBC Washington was able to receive. It said, “At this time, we can confirm that an FBI employee was carjacked on the afternoon of November 29. The vehicle was recovered, and the FBI Washington Field Office and the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force are investigating.”

The statement provided no further details about the incident.

At about 3:45 p.m., the D.C. Police said that they responded to a distress call about a carjacking in the 100 block of 12th Street NE, which is close to Lincoln Park.

The victim, a federal agent, reported that two suspects had forcibly taken their car at gunpoint.

At 4:10 p.m., a quick search for the stolen car ended with the discovery of the vehicle nearby in Southeast D.C.

Neither the FBI nor the D.C. Police have released any specific information about the two suspects connected to the event as of yet. The reason for the carjacking and any possible prelude to the event are unknown.

This regrettable incident brings attention to the growing problem of carjackings in Democratic-controlled Washington, DC.

Three suspects were trying to sneak into an unmarked Secret Service car in Washington, DC, when a Secret Service member assigned to protect Biden’s granddaughter opened fire on them earlier this month, according to a recent report.

Authorities said that late on Sunday night, in a Georgetown neighborhood, a Secret Service member assigned to guard Hunter Biden’s daughter, Naomi Biden, opened fire on three suspects who were trying to sneak into an unmarked Secret Service SUV.

Without the agent’s bullets hitting them, the suspects were all able to flee the crime scene.

Investigative work is being done on the suspects, who were last seen driving a red car.

Representative Henry Cuellar, a Democrat from Texas, was carjacked last month in Washington, D.C., outside his apartment building, and he was held at gunpoint.

Three armed black males reportedly approached Representative Cuellar and demanded his car. In Cuellar’s white, Texas-registered Honda CHR, the assailants managed to escape.

Cuellar has a voting history that includes backing policies that might make police forces less effective. These votes include the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, which aims to hold police accountable and end racial profiling, as well as ones that facilitate the defunding of the police.

Though we hope no damage comes to anyone, Cuellar’s political position is blatantly hypocritical, especially when it comes to public safety and police enforcement, as this incident has shown.
