Police were called to house in Las Vegas on a domestic violence call. When they arrived, they knocked on the door for ten minutes before a small child finally opened the door. The police then spoke to a woman who claimed she was the only adult in the house, which the police didn’t believe and they began to search the house. Going from room to room, they did a thorough search and finally they found a man hiding in a closet. What happens next is tragic and all too common.
The video shows the body-camera footage of the officers as they spend some time clearing the house, looking for whatever other party caused the domestic violence call.
It took them some time, but they found him hiding in a closet off of the master bedroom. Police ordered the man to drop his knife, but he did not. Two officers fired tasers at the man.
Nothing happened.
What happened next is too graphic to be shown on this page. If you wish to watch it, it can be found at the U.K. Daily Mail’s site here. Please be aware — the video is extremely graphic, and viewer discretion is urged.
Ramirez lunged at the law enforcement officers with a massive knife, and he didn’t make it far. He was shot multiple times.
The Las Vegas Review Journal reports that Ramirez was taken to a local hospital, where he died of his wounds.
Metropolitan Police Department Assistant Sheriff Tim Kelly told reporters that Ramirez’s wife said that her husband had hid from police because he did not want to go to jail.
It would appear that his desire to go to jail was so strong that he was willing to give his life to prevent it from happening.
