A police sergeant was suspended Tuesday for posting anti-Black Lives Matter comments on Facebook.
Christopher Castiglia could possibly face more disciplinary action if police find he violated the department’s social media policy, reports Lohud. Castiglia was promoted to sergeant in December.
In August, the website Black Westchester posted an article with a screenshot of a Facebook post from an officer nicknamed “Chris Stigs.”
“Don’t call the police when your world is in disarray to help deal with the worst 10 minutes of your life, figure it out yourself or better yet, call Shaun King and Black Lives Matter for help,” the post read.

The day after a Black Lives Matter march occurred in New Rochelle, a screenshot showed “Chris Stigs” saying that “it was a joke of a protest”, but “it paid us well.”
The New Rochelle Police Department posted a statement on Facebook, saying that the officer’s comments do not reflect the rest of the Department’s opinions.
“We have taken action. We were displeased with what was posted. The officer did not speak for the department.” said Captain Robert Gazzola, a department spokesman.
“This matter is being fully investigated and discipline will be forth coming should it be determined that the individual member violated the Department’s policy governing the use of social media,” The New Rochelle Police Department said on Facebook.
