Mom Realized Her 2-Year-Old Was In Danger, Picture Goes Viral After People Look Closer

Bianca Dickinson was having a photo shoot session with her 2-year-old daughter, Molly, on March 29 at their farm, Daily Mail reported. But as Dickinson was taking pictures, she noticed something moving past her 2-year-old daughter.

At first, she thought it was a piece of bark from a tree blowing in the wind. But as she looked closer, she realized it was a 6-foot eastern brown snake.

Dickinson told Daily Mail “The photo still makes me have heart failure”.

The mother knew she needed to be careful to keep her daughter safe from the venomous snake. She said she wanted to snatch Molly away from the snake, but feared that a sudden movement would startle the creature and cause it to attack.

“I think because I stayed still, she then stayed still and it literally just kept slithering past,” Dickinson recalled.

Dickinson was able to get her daughter away safely. She asked her other children to look at her camera roll to see if she caught a snap of the snake.

“Once I was home I checked my camera and found this shot,” she said.

The photo shows the giant snake slithering over a pole that is a similar color. Still, Dickinson said Molly was “completely oblivious to the saga,” and did not even notice the snake.

“Me on the other hand… I didn’t sleep last night and I have just eaten for the first time since it happened,” Dickinson said.

“Molly looked at the photo when I showed her and she just said, ‘that’s me,’” Dickinson told News.com.au. “She’s sleeping happily and has no idea what happened, which is good.”

“The kids didn’t want to go outside yesterday, around the house will be fine, but we’ll be taking a bit more care walking out and about,” she added. “And I don’t think I’ll be out taking any more photos until it’s cold.”

Some social media users commented on the photo.

“The eastern brown snake is actually the most deadly snake in the world,” wrote one commenter. “Red belly black snakes have more venomous poison but their fangs are short and often, when they bite, for some reason they do not always inject poison. A brown snake is highly aggressive and will actually chase a human to bite them. I have seen a large (6′ plus) kangaroo die in about 20 mins after being bitten by a brown snake.”

The commenter noted: “If this little girl had been bitten her chances of surviving would have been very slim indeed. It gives me the shudders thinking about it.”

News.com.au says the eastern brown snake is the second most deadly snake in Australia, behind the taipan.

Other social media users took a more comical approach.

“It’s Australia,” wrote the user. “The little girl probably picked the snake up, tied it in a knot, took it in the house and made antivenom, then made boots for her and a purse for mom.”
