Meth Addict Shares Photo Of Transformation After Getting Clean And Sober, Looks Unrecognizable [WATCH]

A woman who goes by the username LostWingNut shared a photo of her transformation after she quit using meth on the website Imgur.

Methamphetamine was discovered in 1919 and originally used to treat many disorders such as depression, alcoholism, obesity and attention deficient disorder. However, doctors soon realized it did more harm than good and decided to categorize it as a schedule drug. By 2012, over one million American citizens were methamphetamine users.

She tells the tale of herself on meth by describing herself as a frail 5 foot 9 inch woman only weighing 110 pounds. She said she had many sores on her dry skin and dark circles under her eyes no matter how much she slept.

She said, “The first picture is me at 19 at the peak on my addiction. I was 110 pounds and 5’9. I was a thief, a horrible friend, stole from my family, lied and cheated. When I was 22, I woke up, looked in the mirror and thought this isn’t who I want to be. I walked away and never looked back. Now I am about to get my BA as an accountant and I have the most wonderful almost 3-year-old. I just want you to know whoever you are and whatever you are dealing with that there is hope. Life goes onwards and upwards if you have the courage to stand up and try it.”

Getting a dog was the first step after deciding to get clean. She wanted to have the responsibility of taking care of something other than herself, and she also wanted the constant companionship without judgement. She has been sober for nine years and currently has a daughter.
