  • What Happened: President Trump unveiled TrumpRx.gov, a website offering 40 prescription drugs at dramatically lower cash prices, with fertility drugs slashed up to 93%.
  • Why It Matters: Trump used his Most Favored Nation policy to force drug companies to stop charging Americans more than other countries pay.
  • Bottom Line: The website launches what Trump calls one of the most transformative health care initiatives, with Dr. Oz predicting a "Trump baby boom."

President Donald Trump just delivered on a promise that politicians have been making for decades but never kept. He made prescription drugs affordable.

On Thursday night, Trump unveiled TrumpRx.gov at a White House event, launching a website that lists 40 commonly used prescription drugs at dramatically discounted prices for cash-paying patients. "Starting tonight, dozens of the most commonly used prescription drugs will be available at dramatic discounts for all consumers," Trump announced.

The president appeared alongside Dr. Mehmet Oz, who now runs the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and National Design Studio Director Joe Gebbia. Together they revealed a website that could genuinely change millions of lives.

Trump credited his Most Favored Nation policies for making the lower prices possible. For years, Americans have been paying far more for the same drugs than people in other countries. Trump put an end to that scam.

"For years, politicians from both parties have promised to bring down prescription drug prices and make health care more affordable, but they all failed," Trump said. He did not fail.

The savings are substantial. Wegovy, the weight loss drug, is now available for $149 a month instead of $1,349. But the real jaw-dropper is fertility drugs. Gonal-F is offered at an 83% discount, down from $966 to just $168. Cetrotide got a 93% discount. Ovidrel is 67% off.

"One in three families is having trouble having a baby," Dr. Oz said during the event. "We're gonna have a lot of Trump babies with these costs. Folks cannot afford these medications. It's gonna change their lives."

Experts agree the fertility drug discounts are a big deal. IVF is not covered by most insurance, so people have been stuck paying full price. The price slash on certain fertility drugs could lower the cost of an IVF cycle by about 20% overall.

The drugs are available at participating pharmacies using coupon codes displayed on the website or directly through manufacturers' sites. The discounts are only for cash-paying patients and do not apply if you use insurance, but for millions of Americans without coverage or with high deductibles, this is a lifeline.

Some critics say the website only lists a few dozen drugs, but the site promises many more are coming soon. Pfizer is already the largest participant with over 30 medications listed.

This is what real leadership looks like. Trump saw a problem, forced Big Pharma to stop ripping off Americans, and launched a solution in record time. Democrats talked about lowering drug prices for years and did nothing. Trump did it in his first year back.
