- What Happened: The View requires all audience members to show a valid government-issued photo ID that matches their ticket reservation to attend the show.
- Why It Matters: The panel opposes voter ID laws and calls them voter suppression, yet enforces strict ID requirements for their own studio audience.
- Bottom Line: The View's website states attendees must be at least 16 years old and bring photo ID for security clearance, proving they see the value of ID verification everywhere except the ballot box.
The View just got exposed for the most blatant hypocrisy imaginable. The panel that opposes voter ID laws requires a government-issued photo ID to attend their show.
Let that sink in. The same hosts who call voter ID racist and claim it suppresses voters will not let you into their studio without proof of identity. But asking people to prove they are citizens before casting a ballot? That is apparently Jim Crow 2.0.
The View's website makes it crystal clear. "A valid government-issued photo ID is required to be an audience member for The View to verify your identity and age. The name on your ID must match the name on your 1iota ticket reservation."
The ticket itself states that it "MUST BE USED BY THE E-TICKET HOLDER ONLY (WHO MUST SHOW VALID PHOTO ID WITH DATE OF BIRTH VISIBLE)."

So The View requires ID to verify identity, match names to reservations, and confirm age. That sounds exactly like what voter ID laws do. Except voter ID laws apply to something far more important than watching a talk show. They apply to voting.
But The View opposes voter ID. They have spent years claiming it disenfranchises minorities and the poor. They have called it voter suppression. They have said it is unnecessary and discriminatory.
Yet they enforce the exact same requirements for their studio audience. You need a photo ID. The name must match your reservation. Security checks are mandatory. And if you do not comply, you do not get in.
This is the left's playbook. ID for everything else, but not for voting. ID to fly on a plane. ID to buy alcohol. ID to rent a car. ID to attend The View. But ID to cast a ballot? That is racist.
On a #Juneteenth episode of @TheView Monday, host @JoyVBehar told viewers that the black community is losing its right to vote.

"We should be aware on a day like this that voting rights are being systematically taken away from African Americans."

The hypocrisy is astounding. The View sees the value of ID verification when it protects their show. But when it protects American elections, suddenly it is voter suppression.
The American people are not buying it anymore. Eighty-three percent support voter ID, including a majority of Democrats. They understand that requiring proof of citizenship is common sense, not discrimination.

But The View will keep pushing the narrative because Democrats benefit from a system where citizenship is not verified. They need illegal votes to win competitive elections. And they will lie about voter ID being racist while requiring it for their own studio audience.
The View just proved that ID verification works. Now they should support it for elections too.
