You cannot make this up. Ossoff thinks showing ID to vote is voter suppression. But showing ID to hear him speak? Totally fine. Essential, even.

Senator Eric Schmitt called out the hypocrisy immediately. "This is an 80-20 issue! Dems don't like it because it threatens their power," Schmitt said. He added that Ossoff is "terrified" because he wants to get elected by illegal alien voters.

And he is right. Voter ID is overwhelmingly popular. Eighty-three percent of Americans support it, including a majority of Democrats. But Democrats in Congress block it every single time because they know requiring proof of citizenship would cut off their access to illegal votes.

The truth is simple. Democrats oppose voter ID because they benefit from a system where citizenship is not verified. They need illegal votes to win competitive elections. And senators like Ossoff know that if the SAVE Act passes, their chances of winning reelection go down significantly.
