- What Happened: Sen. John Kennedy went on Hannity and delivered the most brutally perfect sendoff for dead Ayatollah Khamenei anyone in Washington has ever mustered, complete with an Ilhan Omar dig for good measure.
- Why It Matters: Kennedy didn't just clown the dead tyrant, he made the case cold: "He died with the blood of millions of people under his fingernails," and declared the U.S. has already won Operation Epic Fury.
- Bottom Line: While Democrats wring their hands over the cost of ending Iran's nuclear program, Louisiana's favorite senator just summed up the entire situation in one perfect sentence.
John Kennedy is a national treasure, and Tuesday night on Fox News he proved it once again.
The Louisiana Republican joined Sean Hannity to discuss Operation Epic Fury and the elimination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, opening with a curveball nobody saw coming. "Sean, in the words of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, I love you like a brother," Kennedy deadpanned, "and I want you to understand I'm not trying to dodge your question. I just want to answer it a little differently."
Even Hannity cracked up.
Then Kennedy pivoted to Khamenei, and he did not hold back.
"I don't hate anyone, but I will shed no tears for the Ayatollah Khamenei," he said. "He won the coin toss, and he elected to receive. And boy, did he receive. May he rest in pieces. He died with the blood of millions of people under his fingernails."

He wasn't done. Kennedy told Hannity the U.S. has already won, pushing back hard against House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who warned the operation would end in failure. "He's wrong. We've already won," Kennedy said flatly. "We will eventually leave Iran after having destroyed their renewed efforts to develop a nuclear weapon, after having destroyed their missile arsenal, after having destroyed their Navy."
Kennedy also praised President Trump's resolve, crediting his political will as the reason no prior administration had ever had the spine to confront the Iranian regime. "Any fair-minded person has to conclude that if the religious zealots who are ten exits past normal ever get a nuclear warhead, they're going to use it," he said.
He added: "Like him or dislike him, the world is safer today because of what he has done."
While the left mourns a terrorist theocrat and Democrats fret about endless wars, John Kennedy is doing what he does best: telling the truth with a smile, a straight face, and a one-liner that'll echo through history.
May he rest in pieces, indeed.
