Who Is Thomas Massie Really Working For? Follow the Money.

  • What Happened: Newly revealed FEC records show Rep. Thomas Massie accepted multiple $7,000 donations from donors surnamed Mahrouq, the same family bankrolling Ilhan Omar, Ro Khanna, Cori Bush, and Keith Ellison.
  • Why It Matters: A full 79% of Massie's donors also gave to Democrats and ActBlue, raising serious questions about who the self-styled libertarian rebel is really serving.
  • Bottom Line: The man who plays footsie with the left on foreign policy is now confirmed to be cashing their checks too.

Thomas Massie loves to play the principled outsider. The Kentucky congressman built his brand on bucking the establishment, voting against his own party, and wrapping it all in a Constitution he keeps in his pocket.

But FEC records tell a different story.

Newly surfaced campaign finance filings show Massie's campaign hauled in multiple $7,000 donations from members of the Mahrouq family during the 2025-2026 cycle. Those same donors have also written checks to some of the most radical names in Congress: Ilhan Omar, Ro Khanna, Cori Bush, and Keith Ellison.

That is not a coincidence. That is a donor network.

It gets worse. A staggering 79% of Massie's donor base has also contributed to Democrats or ActBlue, the left's premier fundraising machine. For a man who markets himself as the last true conservative in Washington, that is a remarkable overlap.

Massie has made headlines for his repeated votes against Republican priorities, his coziness with anti-intervention left-wingers on foreign policy, and his refusal to fall in line with the America First agenda. Now we know his campaign coffers reflect his voting record.

The money always tells the truth, even when the politician won't. Massie owes his constituents a straight answer: why are Ilhan Omar's donors cutting him checks, and what exactly are they buying?
