- What Happened: President Trump slammed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and California Gov. Gavin Newsom for their appearances at the Munich Security Conference, calling it "not a good look for the United States."
- Why It Matters: Trump said both are "incompetent," noting that Newsom has destroyed California and AOC had no idea how to answer serious questions about global affairs.
- Bottom Line: The president said at least Hillary Clinton is competent, even if she is "Trump-deranged," while AOC and Newsom embarrassed America on the world stage.
President Trump just torched AOC and Gavin Newsom for embarrassing America at the Munich Security Conference.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One Monday, Trump did not hold back. "I watched AOC answering questions in Munich. This was not a good look for the United States," the president said.
Then he turned to Newsom. "I watched Gavin Newscum answering questions in Munich, and this was a bad look for our country."
Trump called both of them incompetent. "These two people are incompetent, and at least Hillary is competent. She's just Trump deranged," he said, describing Clinton as an "angry woman" after her combative panel appearance
Trump went further on Newsom and AOC. "I watched the other two speaking and answering basic questions. Look, Gavin has destroyed California and AOC, I never really got to hear her speak very much. And they started answering questions. She had no idea what was happening. She had no idea how to answer very important questions concerning the world, but she can't answer questions concerning New York City, either."

After the speeches and the spin in Munich, President Trump didn’t hedge.
He said plainly that watching AOC and Gavin Newsom answer basic questions on the world stage “was not a good look for the United States.” He called them… pic.twitter.com/9wGaTSpIaU
AOC's appearance at Munich has been widely viewed as an effort to build her foreign policy portfolio ahead of a possible 2028 White House or Senate run. But the 36-year-old congresswoman stumbled repeatedly. She erroneously claimed Venezuela is "below the equator," sputtered over a question about what the U.S. should do if China invades Taiwan, and struggled to articulate the biggest change Trump made to American foreign policy.
Supercut: AOC’s visit to the Munich Security Conference… was an absolute train wreck.

Newsom's appearance in Munich marks his third major international conference in recent months, following Davos and a world climate conference in Brazil. He hammered Trump over climate policy, calling him "the most destructive president" in U.S. history and accusing him of "doubling down on stupid."
A Newsom spokesperson told The Post that Trump is "on his knees for coal and Big Oil, selling out America's future to China." But Trump does not care about Newsom's spin. He cares about competence.
When American representatives step onto the world stage, they carry the credibility of the country with them. If they appear unprepared or unserious, it reflects on all of us. Leadership matters. Competence matters. And the world is watching.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio also spoke at the Munich conference and received "very good reviews," Trump noted. "Marco did a great job in Munich," the president said.
That is the difference. Rubio represented America with competence. AOC and Newsom embarrassed the country. And Trump made sure everyone knows it.
