• What Happened: The View co-host Joy Behar called President Trump not a "legitimate president" on live television while cheering on Democrats who boycotted the State of the Union.
  • Why It Matters: Even her own co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines pushed back, saying members of Congress have a duty to show up regardless of their feelings about the president.
  • Bottom Line: While Behar was melting down on daytime television, Trump was delivering a barnburner State of the Union to a packed chamber of Americans who are fired up and ready to fight.

Joy Behar went on television Tuesday and called the President of the United States illegitimate. On purpose. Out loud. In front of the whole country.

Let that sink in for a second.

The man that 77 million Americans voted for, the man who won the Electoral College, the man who is sitting in the Oval Office right now delivering results for this country, is apparently not legitimate enough for Joy Behar. Meanwhile, Democrats were busy skipping the State of the Union to attend a left-wing pep rally near the Lincoln Memorial organized by MeidasTouch and MoveOn. That is what the opposition looks like in 2026. Rallies and boycotts and daytime television meltdowns.

Behar tried to dress it up. She said Trump was unlike any president she had seen in her lifetime, including Nixon and Reagan. "He lacks any kind of sense about what he is supposed to do," she declared. So the only appropriate response, in her view, was for elected members of Congress to abandon their constitutional duty, skip the State of the Union, and stand outside in the cold holding signs.

Here is the best part. Her own co-hosts would not even go along with it. Sunny Hostin, who has never once been confused for a Trump supporter, told Behar directly that members of Congress have a duty to show up and listen regardless of how they feel. Sara Haines agreed. Joy Behar was so unhinged that she managed to get fact-checked by The View.

While all of this was happening, President Trump walked into the People's House and delivered one of the most powerful State of the Union addresses in recent memory. He honored Angel Families. He called out sanctuary cities. He declared war on fraud. He challenged every Democrat in the room to stand up for American citizens and watched half the chamber sit on their hands.

The left boycotted, melted down, and called him illegitimate. Trump just kept winning.
