Patriot Brief

  • What Happened: Rep. Jasmine Crockett claimed Republicans will vote for her in the general election for U.S. Senate because they want authenticity over "Republican lite."
  • Why It Matters: Crockett says she has text messages from Republicans promising to vote for her and that GOP voters appreciate she "doesn't take any mess."
  • Bottom Line: The Texas Democrat believes Republicans prefer her radical leftist record over an actual Republican candidate.

Democrats have officially lost their minds, and Jasmine Crockett just proved it.

The Texas Democrat appeared on MSNBC's "The Weeknight" and claimed with a straight face that Republicans will vote for her in the general election for U.S. Senate. Not some Republicans. Not a handful of moderates. She thinks actual Texas Republicans are going to choose her over a Republican candidate.

Co-host Michael Steele asked if she could convince Republicans to vote for her in a general election. Crockett did not hesitate. "Oh, absolutely," she said.

Her reasoning? Republicans do not want "Republican lite." They want authenticity. And apparently, a far-left Democrat who has spent her entire career attacking conservatives is more authentic than an actual Republican.

"I have text messages from Republicans that have made it clear that if there is a certain person that ends up making it through, they are absolutely voting for me because they know who I am," Crockett claimed.

Sure you do, Jasmine. I am sure your phone is full of Texas Republicans begging to vote for a Democrat who supports abortion up to birth, open borders, and the Green New Deal. That sounds totally real.

Crockett went on to compare herself to Donald Trump. "When Republicans went out and voted for a less than perfect candidate in Donald Trump, they don't seek perfection, whereas Democrats typically do," she said. "And so while I may not be their perfect candidate, they know that I know the issues."

This is delusional on a level that is hard to comprehend. Crockett thinks Republicans voted for Trump because they settle for imperfection, and now they will settle for her. As if Trump and Crockett have anything in common besides being politicians.

Trump won because he fought for America First policies. He secured the border, cut taxes, ended bad trade deals, and stood up to China. Crockett has voted against every single one of those things. She is not imperfect. She is the exact opposite of what Republicans want.

But Crockett kept going. She claimed Republicans know she can work across the aisle and that she "doesn't take any mess." She ended with the classic line, "When you are Texas, then it's a matter of you don't mess with Texas."

This is what happens when you spend all your time in a liberal echo chamber. You actually start to believe your own nonsense. Crockett has convinced herself that Republicans in Texas, one of the most conservative states in America, are going to look at her record and say, "Yep, that is our girl."

Texas Republicans are not voting for Jasmine Crockett. They are voting for the Republican candidate. And if Crockett seriously thinks otherwise, she is in for a very rude awakening in November.
