• What Happened: Former CBS investigative reporter Catherine Herridge has gone public revealing that CBS executives blocked her verified Hunter Biden laptop story and held it until after the 2022 midterms despite it being ready to air.
  • Why It Matters: Herridge says she argued against the delay, that executives overrode even CBS CEO George Cheeks, and that multiple follow-up stories including one involving Joe Biden were killed entirely.
  • Bottom Line: The most powerful news network in America sat on a verified, damaging story about the president's son until after an election. There is only one reason to do that.

The story was ready. The laptop was verified. The midterms were coming. And CBS said wait.

That is the bombshell Catherine Herridge just dropped on the entire corporate media establishment, and nobody at CBS has a clean answer for it.

Herridge, a veteran investigative journalist who joined CBS in 2019 after years as Fox News's chief intelligence correspondent, spent years fighting internal resistance to report on Hunter Biden's laptop. She went to extraordinary lengths to obtain a forensic copy of the files, confirmed their authenticity, and had a story ready to go before the 2022 midterm elections.

CBS killed it until after the votes were counted.

"When we did the story, we did it after the midterms," Herridge said. "I argued against that because it was ready before the midterms and my training is that you should always do the story when it's ready to go. You should not be dictated by the political cycle."

It gets worse. Herridge revealed that executives and producers overrode CBS CEO George Cheeks himself, indicating a significant disconnect between the network's stated priorities and what its newsroom was actually willing to do.

The suppression did not stop at timing. Herridge found more than half a dozen emails likely used by Joe Biden on the laptop and brought that to executives as a story. The answer that came back was that they needed to know the content of the emails first, a process she was told would take years. The story died.

Herridge was ultimately fired by CBS in 2024 after refusing to divulge a source on a separate story. She has since launched her own independent journalism platform.

By the time CBS finally aired the laptop story in November 2022, the midterms were over, Democrats had outperformed expectations, and the window to inform voters had closed. That is not a coincidence. That is a choice. And Catherine Herridge just told the world exactly who made it.
