• What Happened: Newly released DOJ emails reveal LinkedIn billionaire Reid Hoffman had a far longer and more personal relationship with Jeffrey Epstein than he ever admitted, including island stays, personal gift exchanges, and contact through 2018.
  • Why It Matters: Hoffman is the megadonor bankrolling the exact Democrats screaming loudest about Epstein transparency, and every single one of them has gone dead silent.
  • Bottom Line: He lied about the timeline. He lied about the relationship. The DOJ is already investigating. The emails don't lie.

Reid Hoffman spent years telling the world his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein was nothing. A little MIT fundraising, a few phone calls, contact that ended in 2015. Nothing to see here.

The emails say otherwise.

Bloomberg published a bombshell report based on newly released DOJ documents revealing that Hoffman's relationship with the convicted pedophile was far longer, far closer, and far more personal than he ever disclosed. The LinkedIn co-founder and Democratic Party megadonor first met Epstein in July 2013, five years after Epstein pleaded guilty to procuring a minor for prostitution and registered as a sex offender.

What followed wasn't a "fundraising relationship." It was a friendship.

Emails show Hoffman stayed at Epstein's Upper East Side Manhattan townhouse and flew to Little Saint James, Epstein's private Caribbean island, in November 2014. Records also reference a planned trip to Epstein's New Mexico ranch. The two exchanged personal gifts: dumbbells for Hoffman, a metal surfer statue for Epstein. In the emails, Epstein referred to Hoffman as a "very close friend" and wrote that he "missed talking and seeing" him.

Contact continued for years. When the Washington Free Beacon confronted Hoffman with calendar entries showing meetings in 2016 and 2018, well past his claimed 2015 cutoff, Hoffman quietly admitted he had been "mistaken."

The political fallout is seismic. Hoffman is one of the Democratic Party's biggest financial backers. He has funneled $16,900 to Adam Schiff, over $335,000 to Hakeem Jeffries and his PAC, $35,600 to Ro Khanna, and nearly $11,000 to Jon Ossoff. Schiff has demanded investigations into Epstein's Trump connections. Khanna co-sponsored the bill forcing the file releases and declared that anyone who visited the island "needs to be investigated under oath." Jeffries brought an Epstein victim as his State of the Union guest. Not one of them has said a word about their donor.

The Trump DOJ opened a formal investigation into Hoffman in November 2025. Hoffman called it "political persecution." The emails call it something else entirely.

None of this is new information. It's just newly proven. Independent investigators were sounding the alarm on Hoffman's Epstein ties years ago, including a detailed video exposé making the rounds as far back as 2024 that the mainstream media ignored entirely. The emails simply confirmed what anyone paying attention already knew.

Hoffman has not been charged with or accused of any crime. He insists his entire association was MIT fundraising, which he deeply regrets.

The island, the gifts, and the lies suggest the regrets came a little late.
