Donald Trump has responded after Democratic Georgia Rep. John Lewis said he did not see him as “a legitimate president.”
In a series of tweets Saturday, the president-elect said Lewis should focus on his “crime-infested district” instead.
“Congressman John Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results. All talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!”

Lewis said he did not see Trump as legitimate during an interview with “Meet the Press.”
“I believe in forgiveness, I believe in trying to work with people, but it would be hard — it would be very difficult,” Lewis said Friday. “I don’t see the president-elect as a legitimate president”
When asked why he didn’t think Trump was legitimate, Lewis said “the Russians participating in helping this man get elected” and “how he destroyed the candidacy of Hillary Clinton.”
“I think there was a conspiracy on part of the Russians and others that helped him get elected. That’s not right and that’s not fair.”
Lewis said he will not attend the inauguration on Friday.
“It will be the first one that I’ve missed.”
