A superstar on and off the big screen known for freely sharing his love for Jesus Christ, Chris Pratt took a very public stand for the Bible last Tuesday on his Instagram account following a visit to a London children’s hospital.
According to E Online, Pratt and his “Jurassic World 2” co-star Bryce Dallas Howard took a break from filming Universal Pictures’ newest installment in the series to visit the kids at Great Ormond Street Hospital and Children’s Charity. After bidding farewell to the kids, Pratt shared photos and a faith-filled message with his followers.
“Bryce and I had the tremendous pleasure of spending some time with our new buddy Elle and a few other patients at Great Ormand Street Children’s Hospital in London,” wrote Pratt, who wore a Marvel cap in the accompanying image. “I’ll never fail to be moved by the unbreakable spirit of a child. #godisgood.”
Pratt went on to directly quote from Psalm 107: “Let them praise the LORD for his loving kindness, for his wonderful deeds to the children of men! For he satisfies the longing soul. He fills the hungry soul with good.”
In addition to spending time with the children, Pratt made it a point to send encouraging words to the hardworking staff at the hospital.
“Huge shout out to the loving staff at the Great Ormand Street Children’s Hospital,” he wrote. “Thank you for all that you do!! #angels”
According to Entertainment Weekly, Pratt has intentionally focused his celebrity attention on children’s hospitals — and for good reason. He and wife Anna Faris spent a significant amount of time in one following the premature birth of their son Jack in 2012.
Pratt has used his celebrity for good by visiting the Seattle Children’s Hospital and Lake Children’s Hospital in Louisiana in addition to a string of others with Marvel co-star Chris Evans following the 2015 Super Bowl.
At a time where moral relativity in Hollywood is commonplace, the steadfast faith of Chris Pratt is refreshing and reassuring. While the rest of Hollywood looks to worldly pleasure to satisfy its desires, Pratt continually demonstrates where his ultimate satisfaction comes from — Jesus Christ.
How fitting it is that Pratt plays a superhero on the big screen when in reality, he’s a superhero for Christ followers around the world!
