Obama administration officials are going off on Twitter about President Donald Trump’s executive order freezing immigration from some Middle Eastern countries.
Immigration is barred from Iran, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Sudan and Iraq. Trump suspended refugee admission for 120 days, and suspended it indefinitely for Syrian refugees.
I stand with the people gathered across the country tonight defending our values & our Constitution. This is not who we are.

This is stone cold crazy. After a week of crazy. Who needs military advice or intell to make policy on ISIL, Syria, Afghanistan, DPRK? https://t.co/Mmyc139w3M

Pence may chair NSC meetings in lieu of POTUS. Never happened under Obama. UN Ambassador sidelined from Cabinet and Sub cabinet level mtgs.
— Susan Rice (@AmbassadorRice) January 29, 2017
Chairman of Joint Chiefs and DNI treated as after thoughts in Cabinet level principals meetings. And where is CIA?? Cut out of everything?
— Susan Rice (@AmbassadorRice) January 29, 2017
There’s not an iota of Christian values in what Trump did. Turning away innocent refugees, many of them children, is wrong. #TrumpMuslimBan
— Julián Castro (@JulianCastro) January 29, 2017
Don’t believe for a second that we have to throw away our values or our tradition as a welcoming nation to maintain security. #falsechoice
— Julián Castro (@JulianCastro) January 29, 2017
Trump’s idiotic targeting of Muslims will only do ISIS’ work for it, help radicalize people who already live here. It’s wrong and dangerous.
— Julián Castro (@JulianCastro) January 28, 2017
You see all this mess? This division? This wasted time and twisted priorities? Trump and the Republicans. Register, vote, organize. #resist

The #MuslimBan does not represent our country’s values that believes in Liberty and Justice for ALL. We stand with our Muslim communities.

They also complained about Trump’s U.S.-Mexico border wall executive order. A planned meeting between Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and Trump was cancelled after Trump signed the order and again insisted Mexico will pay for the wall.
Messing with Mexico is stupid and dangerous. Mexico has been key to limiting the flow of Central American migrants to the US.
— Susan Rice (@AmbassadorRice) January 27, 2017
Mexico and US must be partners not adversaries. Our economic ties run deep and benefit both countries. Pena Nieto gets it. Why box him in?
— Susan Rice (@AmbassadorRice) January 27, 2017
Next time u think, “Oh, he’s a good businessman (questionable); he’ll make a good president.” Be careful. Trump: Bad judgment, bad manager.
— Julián Castro (@JulianCastro) January 26, 2017
Build a wall and torture people. That’s what this new president said he believes our nation should do. Does that sound like America to you?
— Julián Castro (@JulianCastro) January 26, 2017
Calling this out for what it is—a lie. This is Donald Trump’s ego-driven witch hunt. I will not normalize these #AlternativeFacts. https://t.co/dYNXBMfNSJ

Trump moving forward with “the wall” is an all-out assault on our values. Americans of every race, gender & creed will hold him accountable. pic.twitter.com/izUvFZnZZn

Border relations are about building trust, not walls. @potus wall is wrong.
