(Scroll down for video) A woman managed to steal a fire truck and drive it several blocks, where she parked it in front of a Walgreens, according to police in Utah.
Kearns police said that they have arrested 39-year-old Amber Marie Welker, after being accused of stealing the fire truck that was idling outside a 7-Eleven.
Welker has been charged with one count of theft. She was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail, pending a bail hearing.
According to the police investigation, on Thursday around 5:00 a.m., a Unified Fire Authority fire truck was parked in front of the 7-Eleven located at 4820 W. 6200 South, while firefighters were inside the convenience store.
Welker got into the driver’s seat of the fire truck and drove away. She drove eight blocks before parking the truck outside a Walgreens, near the intersection of 6200 South and 5600 West.
She entered the store and changed her clothes in a bathroom.
Surprisingly, the fire truck was not damaged.
Police officers and firefighters said that they were surprised that the woman knew how to drive the very large truck around several blocks without hitting any parked vehicles.
