Quick, what’s the most horrifying thing you could find in your food? A single hair? A piece of plastic? The internet is adept at finding new and ever more revolting stories from consumers, like the family that found a rodent in their Dr. Pepper, or the couple who spotted a live scorpion in their spinach, or the folks who happened upon a dead bat in their salad. If you had any remaining shred of appetite left, here’s a way to obliterate it: a New York woman says she’s found a squid-like monster in her carton of Vita Coco.
A spokesperson for Vita Coco says he has contacted Kline several times to remedy the issue. “We have been trying to help this consumer since April 26, 2017, and have been in touch with her every day this week,” representative Arthur Gallego commented to the Post.
“We are a quality and food safety driven brand, and the consumer, Ms. Kline, has refused every opportunity to give the product to us, our insurance company, or her local FDA office, for testing.”
Hopefully Kline gives up the specimen soon. It demands to be studied for science. It may take a while to get to the bottom of this, so in the mean time: good luck sleeping!
