A couple who allegedly arguing over the volume of the television sparked a domestic argument that ultimately left a house on fire and a felon arson arrest.
Judith Juste, 29-year-old, is reportedly set to appear before a judge Tuesday on battery and arson charges.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Juste got into a fight with her ex-husband at 3 a.m. at their rental home on Chapel Street in unincorporated Palm Beach Gardens.
The unidentified ex-husband told detectives on the case that he asked her to turn down the TV but she refused. He claimed Judith was intoxicated and the argument escalated into a physical fight. He said she punched him and pushed him out of their house, and threatened to set the house on fire.
The man said he grabbed his two children out of the house as Juste grabbed a bottle of lighter fluid and poured it onto his clothes in the closet and lit them on fire with a BBQ lighter.
According to the arrest report, the man said Juste kept punching him and pushing him away as he tried to put out the fire.
Firefighters say the fire caused about $60,000 in damage.
