A British woman has landed herself a good amount of time in jail after blasting Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You” song on repeat for 30 minutes straight but this is not her first time creating noise pollution.
Sonia Bryce, 36-year-old, apparently played the latest Ed Sheeran earworm, Shape of You, at a maximum volume which was described as a cause of a “wholly unacceptable level of disturbance” by a judge handling this bizarre case, a British media reported.
The Ed Sheeran fanatic was given an eight-week sentence and faces eviction at her home in Willenhall, in West Midlands.
The Tidmarsh family who lived next door suffered a “wholly unacceptable level of disturbance through loud noise involving music, shouting, swearing and banging – time and time again – emanating from Miss Bryce’s home”, said judge Philip Gregory.
According to the investigations, the Tidmarsh family reportedly said the Sheeran fan was constantly creating numerous ear-splitting events that includes swearing, banging, etc. But that half an hour of Ed Sheeran’s soundtrack was “the straw that broke the camel’s back”, the Metro reported.
Clare Tidmarsh told the Sun: “I used to like Ed Sheeran but I’ve taken him off my playlist. It drove us crazy.”
Bryce allegedly disputed her neighbours’ complaints, “I don’t even like Ed Sheeran,” she said in Walsall county court.
Bryce’s latest charge is in addition to the six weeks that she received back in December 2016, after she repeatedly breached an order issued by her landlord banning her from creating any mischiefs.
She was then released in February, but once again fell into trouble with her neighbours and landlord.
At sentencing, Gregory told the repeat offender: “You have displayed nothing but violent animosity towards your neighbour”
“You must learn that you should behave as a reasonable and responsible adult and not make life for your neighbours the misery that you have.” he added.
