According to the police, Kimberly Brady, 31, had witnessed a repeated sexual assault of a girl and has failed to report it to the authorities. In court, the judge said that she was accused of allegedly holding the girl’s hand while her husband sexually assaulted her.
On the other hand, her husband, Royal Brady, is already facing charges in the sexual assault case. The local police said Kimberly Brady reported the reoccuring incidents to police this month, but according to legal supporting documents, her husband is guilty of sexually abusing the girl since September 2014.
According to the legal court paperwork, Kimberly Brady watched her husband repeatedly sexually assaulting the girl but did nothing to remove and help her from the situation. She is now facing two misdemeanor charges, as well as aggravated felonious sexual assault.
At one point, Kimberly even began helping her husband with the sexual assaults. On one incident, Kimberly held down the girl’s arms while her husband sexually assaulted the child.
Meanwhile, Royal Brady was charged with a pattern of aggravated felonious sexual assault.
According to the court documents, police said he initially denied the accusations against him, but he then confessed that the sexual assaults started in the summer of 2015.
The police handling the case reported the man told them that the girl instigated sexual contact with him, and that was what triggered the sexual assaults. At the end of the interview, he told police that “he knew what he was doing was wrong,” according to court documents.
The unidentified victim told police that Royal Brady attacked her “on a regular and consistent basis, more than once a week.” She also reported to the police that the said assaults began earlier than Royal Brady said.
On legal paperworks, Kimberly Brady described her husband as manipulative. At her arraignment Thursday, she asked to be released.
“To get a decent lawyer if I can, someone who is going to fight for me and so that I am not having constant seizures,” she said.
The judge denied her request and she is being held on $50,000.
