Hunter Biden’s old business partner has been revealed to be a Russian intelligence service agent.
Mykola Zlochevsky, a Ukrainian magnate, has been identified as a pawn of the Russian SVR intelligence organization, according to a report supplied by an unknown U.S. intelligence official, according to a piece by RedState managing editor Jennifer Van Lahr.
In 2002, Zlochevsky established the Ukrainian energy firm Burisma, and in 2014, he appointed Hunter Biden to the board of directors.
Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa claimed in a speech on the Senate floor on Monday that former Vice President Joe Biden might have had a hand in his son joining Burisma’s board.
According to a New York Post article from 2021, Burisma paid the younger Biden handsomely, up to $83,333 per month – generous money that detractors of the Biden family have compared to a bribe.
Zlochevsky worked for the pro-Russian Ukrainian government of Viktor Yanukovych, who was himself impeached by the legislature in his own nation after leaving for Russia in 2014, according to the BBC.
Following Yanukovych’s ouster, Zlochevsky was the subject of a corruption probe by Ukrainian authorities. RedState claims that Zlochevsky attempted to avoid prosecution by paying Joe and Hunter Biden $5 million apiece.
Joe Biden, who was vice president at the time, boasted about getting Viktor Shokin, the prosecutor general of Ukraine, fired in 2018.
Biden openly acknowledged threatening to withhold $1 billion in American funding from Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko if he did not dismiss Shokin at a Council on Foreign Relations session.
According to Van Lahr, the intelligence source expressed confidence in the determination that Zlochevsky was a Russian operative. According to the source, Biden, current Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs Victoria Nuland, and former President Barack Obama were all aware of it while they were in government.
“The US intelligence community has a high degree of confidence in their assessment of Zlochevsky as [Russian Foreign Intelligence Service],” the source is quoted as saying.
“This is not a new assessment; the intelligence community under Obama knew this, and Obama was briefed on it. Joe Biden and Victoria Nuland were briefed as well.”
In a statement to the Senate on Monday, Grassley said that an FBI document implicated an unnamed “foreign national” in bribing Joe and Hunter Biden and recording phone calls between himself and both of them that show the Bidens were involved in the bribery.

According to the New York Post, three Republican members of Congress have named this foreigner Zlochevsky.
Hunter Biden wrote in his 2021 autobiography, “Beautiful Things,” that he joined the Burisma board to frustrate Russian President Vladimir Putin’s goals.
Months after Yanukovych was deposed in 2014 by a popular revolt in Ukraine, Zlochevsky appointed Hunter Biden to the board of Burisma.
According to Reuters, Zlochevsky’s suspected embezzlement of state funds is the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation in Ukraine.
According to a Monday Newsweek report, the Ukraine Anti-Corruption Court is attempting to try him in absentia.
