On Monday, Democratic Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania used a ruse to unintentionally include former Republican congressman George Santos in his troll of Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey.
Through the celebrity video app Cameo, Fetterman employed Santos. Fetterman has demanded that Menendez step down or be removed from the Senate in the wake of a federal corruption probe. Last week, the Republican from New York was kicked out of the House.
For a small cost, Cameo provides celebrities with films for birthdays and other special occasions.
According to Business Insider, Santos’s payment was $343; nevertheless, on Tuesday, his Cameo account indicated that his services were “temporarily unavailable.”
Fetterman sent a message to Menendez, who was charged in September, using Santos’ services on the app.
“I thought my ethically-challenged colleague @BobMenendezNJ could use some encouragement given his substantial legal problems,” the Pennsylvania senator said in a Monday post on X as he shared the Cameo video.
“So, I approached a seasoned expert on the matter to give ‘Bobby from Jersey’ some advice,” Fetterman said.
In his Cameo video, Santos urged “Bobby” not to give in.

“Hey, Bobby! I don’t think I need to tell you, but these people that want to make you get in trouble and want to kick you out and make you run away, you make them put up or shut up!” Santos said.
He added, “You stand your ground, sir, and don’t get bogged down by all the haters out there. Stay strong. Merry Christmas!”
Subsequently, Santos expressed his amusement at the Cameo video on his X page and said he was unaware that it was a video directed against Menendez.

Fetterman stated to CNN on Monday night that Menendez ought to be removed from Congress if Santos was expelled for fabricating his résumé and for committing fraud and other offenses.
“[Santos has] done some really bizarre kinda lying and everything,” the senator told Abby Phillip on “NewsNight.” “But if you expel somebody like George Santos, how can you allow somebody like Senator Menendez to remain in the Senate?”

Menendez’s staff referred to Fetterman as “Mr. Clickbait” in a network statement, accusing the Pennsylvania Democrat of using campaign money to “enrich” Santos.
Santos describes himself as “the expelled member of Congress from New York City” and “the former congressional ‘Icon'” on his Cameo account.
