What Michael Douglas Said About Trump Will DEFINITELY Surprise You [VIDEO]

Michael Douglas supported Hillary Clinton in 2016, but urged Americans to give president-elect Donald Trump a chance.

On Thursday, Page Six reported that the 72-year-old actor said Trump is not “an idiot” when he was asked about the president-elect. Douglas hoped people would give him time to prove what he can do during an interview at a World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

“I personally know the President-elect Donald Trump,” Douglas responded. “I’ve spent time with him, played golf with him, my wife Catherine and I have the same birthday and have had him [Trump] at parties together.”

“I’ve always found him to be charming and have a self-deprecating humor — but then again, one of the things you learn playing golf is not to talk politics or religion,” he added. “I think we have to wait. He’s not an idiot so I will be curious to see what plays out.”

Earlier in the week the actor shared a post on Facebook where he thanked President Barack Obama for the last eight years.

“President Obama’s farewell address last night proves that he is an inspiration for all Americans,” Douglas wrote. “Thank you Mr. President for your extraordinary work and dedication over the past 8 years and for giving our country the hope and strength to continue moving forward. #POTUS #USA.”
