Nearly every American remembers the stomach churning ISIS beheading photos of Americans James Foley and Daniel Pearl, so why would liberal icon comedian Kathy Griffin believe that a beheading photo of President Donald Trump was decent? Apparently, CNN, which fired Griffin on Wednesday, did not think her despicable actions were any laughter matter, according to The New York Daily News. Did they bow to advertiser pressure or because it was the decent thing to do?
For the families of the victims of ISIS both in the United States as well as in Europe and around the world, the apology which Griffin offered seemed insincere and baseless considering her insidious comments about Trump beforehand. Getting attention for comedy theatrics may have its place, but there is a line in the sand when gutter humor which Griffin holds stock in crosses the line.
Fox News “The Five cohost nailed it when she lambasted Griffin on Tuesday evening by stating, that Griffin’s apology was phone. She added, “It was contrived,” reported the Blaze. She added, ““Yeah!” Perino responded. “In the monologue, you showed the video behind scenes where she’s talking to the photographer. She’s saying, ‘Call your dad, tell him that we’re not gonna survive this.’ So, the whole thing is manufactured.”
Griffin stared into the camera and issued her apology which she hoped would not end in having her own career decapitated. She said,” “I sincerely apologize. I am just now seeing the reaction of these images,” Griffin says. She continues, “I’m a comic. I cross the line. I move the line then I cross it. I went way too far. The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people. It wasn’t funny. I get it.” Perino was correct, she sounded as fake as her appearance without makeup was.
What may have tipped the scales against the vile comedians’ ability to hold onto her CNN New Years’ Eve gig was news anchor Anderson Cooper. He did not condone her contrived attempt at art or humor. Instead he condemned her and emphasized, “For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in,” he tweeted. “It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate,” according to the New York Daily News.
But it was not just her New Years’ Eve liberal co-host that kicked her to the curb and rightly under the bus that forced her to utter her totally unbelievable apology. In fact, Griffin was universally vilified by liberal and conservative commentators alike. Chelsea Clinton even called Griffin’s picture “vile and wrong” in a tweet.
The viral reaction to her depiction of holding Trump’s bloodied decapitated head in the controversial photo was condemned throughout social media. And President Trump, the target of her contemptable photo weighed in and Tweeted, “Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself.”
Liberals like Griffin believe that taking responsibility for their carefully crafted demeaning remarks and actions should never have consequences. According to Hot Air, before she issued her less than sincere apology and the decapitation of her comic career, she tweeted out in her first tweet she frames the bloody head as some kind of feminist revenge for a comment Trump made about Megyn Kelly during the primaries. And the second tweet makes it clear she was already aware of the blowback she was getting.
She clearly when the heat was becoming an online raging inferno she decided to issue her apology without makeup as if that would convince her supporters at CNN that she had some type of regret for the photo. Well, CNN was not biting and that evening they even aired a segment where the guests denounced her actions.
CNN, not a friend of President Trump and fully in command of the fake news industry which it and MSNBC carefully cultivates had to broom Griffin because advertisers were getting ready to pull the plug-in mass. So, without much fanfare they tweeted, “CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year’s Eve program.
