Tim Allen’s ‘Last Man Standing’ Looking for New Home; Someone Just Said ‘Pick Us!’

Tim Allen’s ‘Last Man Standing’ Looking for New Home; Someone Just Said ‘Pick Us!’

“Stunned and blindsided.”

That’s how conservative comedian and producer Tim Allen described ABC’s cancellation of his highly-watched “The Last Man Standing” TV show.

Now as a Change.org petition to boycott ABC until it brings back the show reaches 342,000 supporters as of Thursday afternoon, the studio that produced the show — 20th Century Fox Television — is looking for a new home for it, according to Variety.

Studio president Jonnie Davis remarked, “That’s the one that’s really an open sore right now.

Studio president Howard Kurtzman added, “We really were expecting a pickup. The fact that we didn’t get a pickup was a surprise and a disappointment. I think no one was more disappointed than Tim Allen, such a huge star with such a huge following.” “Last Man Standing” was actually ABC’s second most-watched comedy, sitting close behind “Modern Family.”

But now Pure Flix just wrote a shoutout in a story headlined: “Hey Tim Allen, Have Your People Call Our People!”

Pure Flix is a Christian movie and TV studio created for the purpose of making family-friendly films and shows. They’re best known for the popular “God’s Not Dead” and “God’s Not Dead 2” movies.

While Pure Flix is a very different animal than ABC, and not nearly as well known, moving a TV show online has been a growing, successful trend. Producing their own online-only TV shows, both Netflix and Amazon have become major players in the entertainment scene.
