The “Clueless” actress Alicia Silverstone has declared her support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s campaign for the presidency in the 2024 Democratic primary to oust Vice President Joe Biden.
The Hollywood diva declared that she had dumped the fractured Democratic Party in a message on social media.
The 46-year-old may actually know something after all.
On Wednesday, Silverstone posted a Kennedy campaign video to her Instagram feed. As a former Democrat, she also expressed her disgust with the political system.
“Last year, I canceled my Democratic Party registration and registered as an Independent voter,” Silverstone said. “Like many others, I am deeply disappointed with political leadership at every turn.”
She continued by charging public employees with exploiting “division” and “lies” to make money at the expense of the general welfare.
The actress avoided mentioning any specific individuals or groups. But she made it abundantly obvious who she would back in the primary.
“But [Kennedy] gives me hope,” she said. “This man gets me excited about the potential for truth and justice. He provides hope for young and old to trust our government once again. RFK Jr. is a person we can be inspired and be proud to call President.”
Silverstone categorized Kennedy as a “true leader” who “loves our country.”
“He fights for all mothers and children. He fights for our planet, fairness, and freedom. He is someone who can unify the divide in this country. He is a walking history book; a passionate loving human with no tolerance for corruption or bullying,” she said.
Democrats who are tired of Washington doing business as usual must support Kennedy, according to Silverstone.
“If you have felt disenfranchised by our government like me, I highly recommend you listening to Bobby speak,” she said. “I’ve worked alongside Bobby for children’s health and our environment for 15 plus years. Kennedy responded, “Thank you!”
Democrats and former Democrats who actively support Kennedy’s candidacy are not limited to Silverstone.
The nephew and son of the late President John F. Kennedy are currently polling at about 20% among Democrats. Robert F. Kennedy is a former attorney general.
According to a CNN poll conducted late last month, only 60% of party voters presently back President Joe Biden’s bid for re-election, giving his campaign the opportunity to grow.
Kennedy’s candidacy demonstrates that there are many Democrats who do not want four more years of Biden’s polarizing and ineffective leadership, despite the fact that Biden has a significant numerical and incumbent advantage.
One Hollywood celebrity, in particular, has been so angry with him that she is now openly lobbying against him.
