Never in my lifetime did I think that we would see gas prices as high as they are right now, but also never did I think that so many people would make excuses for them either.
Every day the gas prices in the country continue to rise, and the Biden team wants to continually blame Russia for the crisis. However, they won’t mention that we were pretty much energy independent when President Trump was in office and gas was right at about $2.00 a gallon on average.
Now, according to GasBuddy, the average price of a gallon of gas in the United States surpassed $5 on Thursday, after a quick spike over the previous month that has frightened public leaders and put a strain on common Americans’ finances.
Biden’s handling of the US oil supply has been blamed for rising petrol prices by Republican lawmakers, who blasted his decision to stop down the Keystone XL pipeline last year.
Biden was leaning toward a trip to Saudi Arabia, the world’s top oil supplier, as recently as last week, which could provide some respite for American gas consumers.
The United States and its allies said in March that they will release 60 million barrels of oil from their strategic reserves over the next several months, aiming to alleviate some of the supply shortage and temper price rises.
On Sunday, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg told George Stephanopoulos of “This Week” that inflation is Biden’s “top economic priority.”
Buttigieg was queried about the release of oil from strategic reserves by Stephanopoulos on Sunday, and he said it “hasn’t made any effect at all.” “Was that a failure?” Stephanopoulos inquired.

The average price of a gallon of gas in all 50 states was above $4.40, but costs varied greatly between areas, with drivers in the West and Northeast paying the highest prices and those in the Southeast paying the lowest, according to AAA data.
According to AAA data, drivers in California, the state with the highest gas prices, paid an eye-popping average of $6.40 per gallon.
Experts told ABC News late last month that the increased prices are due to a summer tourism surge that has drawn more people to the pump. The surge in demand corresponds with a crude oil supply crisis resulting from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which drove a widespread industry exodus from the country, removing millions of barrels of oil from the market, according to experts.
As consumer dissatisfaction has grown in recent months, President Joe Biden has been chastised for his handling of price hikes in commodities such as gasoline and groceries. According to an ABC/Ipsos poll released on Sunday, only 37% of Americans approve of Biden’s handling of the economic recovery.
