This week’s substitute high school teacher busted for allegedly traumatizing a 17-year-old male student with sex romps in a car and right there at his family’s house is Loryn Barclay.
Barclay, 24 (or possibly 25) years old, was a substitute teacher and a teacher’s aide — until recently — at Monett High School in Monett, Missouri.
Police in the tiny southwest Missouri town arrested Barclay on Sunday, reports The Monett Times.
Investigators say Barclay engaged in sex — and oral sex — with the 17-year-old student in a car and inside his home on various occasions from November 2016 and January 2017.
The car romps appear to have occurred at Monett North Park — a 35-acre park featuring baseball fields, a playground and a skateboarding area.
A Monett police officer who serves as the high school campus cop cracked the sex trauma case after he received an anonymous tip about the fling.
The police officer confronted the unidentified 17-year-old student about the allegations in early May. The student admitted that the 24-year-old Barclay had traumatized him with sex several times, according to a probable cause report.
The next day, the officer spoke to Barclay. She admitted to having “an inappropriate relationship” with a student,” according to Four States Homepage, an area website.
Monett school district superintendent Brad Hanson issued a statement about the allegations.
“When we became aware of potential involvement with a student, we followed all procedures by informing the Children’s Division,” Hanson said, according to The Monett Times. “We had a conversation with her and she was not employed from then on. We learned about it the day of her exit as an employee. We dealt with it swiftly.”
The alleged frolics between Barclay and the teen student occurred in two separate counties.
The prosecutor in Lawrence County, Al Don Trotter, filed charges against Barclay on Friday. A prosecutor in neighboring Barry County filed additional charges on Monday.
In all, Barclay faces four counts of sexual contact by a teacher with a student.
After her arrest in Lawrence County, Barclay posted a $25,000 bond and was released.
