Target Is Facing Even More Backlash Over Their Disgusting New Clothing Collection…

Target is under criticism because a designer who appears in the company’s “Pride” line may have produced goods featuring images of Satan.

This past weekend, a thread on Twitter by Wisconsin activist Scarlett Johnson detailing why she is “done” with the retailer went viral. Johnson specifically objected to Target carrying three things from Abprallen, a London-based designer of goods that occasionally combine gruesome images and messaging with gender-related themes.

There is no Satanic imagery on any of the three bright clothing items offered for sale on Target’s website under the Abprallen brand. A “We Belong Everywhere” little messenger bag costs $18, a “Too Queer for Here” tote bag costs $18, and a “Cure Transphobia, Not Trans People” hoodie costs $25, according to the catalog. All of these can be found under “Pride Adult Clothing.”

Johnson, however, drew attention to other goods that are offered for sale and displayed on the Abprallen website and its related Instagram account, which has roughly 25,000 followers. A rainbow-colored skeleton, a “Trans Witches For Abortion” badge, and a T-shirt that reads “Satan respects pronouns” are among them.

Since it started on Saturday, Johnson’s thread has received hundreds of retweets, with many users denouncing Target and others even advocating a boycott. Others praised the goods and inquired as to Johnson’s issue with the designer’s work.

The “Satan respects pronouns” shirt’s sales page discusses how LGBT+ individuals are “so often referred to as being a product of Satan or going against God’s will” while arguing that The Satanic Temple and The Church of Satan are more supportive of the LGBTQ community.

“Satanists don’t actually believe in Satan, he is merely used as a symbol of passion, pride, and liberty. He means to you what you need him to mean. So for me, Satan is hope, compassion, equality, and love,” the page says. “So, naturally, Satan respects pronouns. He loves all LGBT+ people.”

According to the “My Story” section of the website, Erik, a gay trans guy, is the owner of Abprallen. Erik enjoys pairing pastel hues with “spooky things.” Recently, the designer’s Instagram account talked about how Target is selling Abprallen products after “they approached me to design a range for Pride.”

Even before Johnson’s thread went viral, The New York Post reported that Target was facing criticism over “tuck-friendly” swimwear for women. This prompted some to speculate that the retailer would experience backlash similar to what Bud Light experienced after its association with self-described transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
