Swimsuit Offer Goes Viral Gets COMPLETELY Out Of Control

After a swimsuit company offered to send free bathing suits to anyone who posted an image of a woman in a red swimsuit, the image has taken over social media, leaving even the company struggling to keep up.

California-based Sunny Co. Clothing posted an offer on Instagram to send a free swimsuit, not including the price of shipping, to anyone who reposted and tagged the company in a photo of a woman in a red swimsuit sitting next to a pool, Mediate reports.

“Sharing is caring,” wrote the company. “EVERYONE that reposts and tags us in this picture will receive a FREE Pamela Sunny Suit.”

“After 24 [hours] everyone who reposted and tagged us will be receiving a code and they will be able to use it on our website for the free check out,” Sunny Co. wrote in their post. Social media users jumped on the offer, inundating feeds with the image. According to New York Post, the frenzy over the swimsuit offer has even led to a backlash — Olympic medal-winning gymnast Simone Biles tweeted, “Please stop posting the red bathing suit picture”.

Other users had similar feelings about the photo’s prominence. “I’ll give you a red swimsuit to stop posting the picture,” one user tweeted. “Good morning to everyone except the people who posted that pic of the swimsuit,” posted another. “99% of my Instagram feed is that girl in the red bathing suit,” wrote another user. “#OverIt.”

“IF I SEE THAT DAMN RED BATHING SUIT ONE. MORE. TIME,” said another. Others were simply confused about why they were seeing the image in the first place on social media.

“Why is my whole Instagram feed the same girl in a red bathing suit,” wondered one user.

Other users made jokes about how many girls would be wearing the same bathing suit to the beach this summer. Even Sunny Co. didn’t appear to predict how popular the offer would be, and posted that they would not be able to fulfill demand for the swimsuit.

“We truly had no idea the response was going to [be] so overwhelming and we are very sorry for any confusion,” wrote the company. “We will make our best effort [to] honor our offer to the first 50,000 orders placed.”

“Due to the viral volume of participants, we reserve the right to cap the promotion if necessary,” Sunny Co. clarified, E! News reports.

“Due to the overwhelming volume of orders we will work as fast as we can to process + ship (approx. 3-6 weeks) but there may be delays,” the company added.
