John McCain made it clear that no matter what the next president wants, the United States will not engage in waterboarding or any other kind of torture.
Speaking at the Halifax International Security Forum yesterday, McCain said, “I don’t give a damn what the President of the United States wants to do or anybody else wants to do. We will not waterboard. We will not torture.”In the past, Trump has said terror suspects deserve torture even if it’s ineffective, and he even talked about bringing back things “beyond waterboarding.”
Oh, and he also called it a “minimal form of torture.”
