Police Memorial Service Interrupted By Teens Who Play ‘F**k Tha Police’

Police Memorial Service Interrupted By Teens Who Play ‘F**k Tha Police’

A teenager said he had a “satisfying” experience blasting “Fuck Tha Police” during the funeral of a murdered New York Police Department officer Tuesday.

Sixteen-year-old Julien Rodriguez played the NWA song out his apartment window because he claims police officers killed his older brother and best friend without cause, reports the New York Post.

“Since they did not show respect for my brother and my friend, why should I show respect to them?” Rodriguez said to the New York Post. The Post could not confirm that Rodriquez’s brother and friend were killed by officers.

Thousands of police officers were gathering to honor slain Officer Miosotis Familia, who was killed by Alexander Bonds while she sat in her squad car last week. Bonds was fatally shot by other NYPD officers and reportedly expressed anti-police sentiments in the past. Familia leaves behind three children.

About 20 NYPD officers went up to Rodriquez’s apartment to ask him to turn off the music, police sources told the New York Post. He eventually turned off the song, only after the building supervisor threatened to kick his family out of the apartment, he said.

“I left my job, came to the apartment, and told them they have to get out of there,” a man claiming to be the building supervisor told tThe New York Post. “I’ve got a deep respect for all the police — I didn’t know they would do something like that.”

Rodriguez does feel sympathy for Familia and the family she left behind, he added.

“I feel sympathy for that, because all she was trying to do was take bad people off the street,” he said. “It was wrong because she did not do anything wrong but at the same time, my bro and my best friend died for no reason.”
