Silas Wirth, 38, of San Antonio, was taken into custody and arrested for the serial assault on an 11 year old family member. He told police that he did it every chance he got. He would rape the girl, use sex toys on her and even took showers with the underage girl. The attacks took place over an extended period of time and usually occurred when the girl’s mother was out of town. Eventually, the girl told her mother what he had been doing to her and she called the police.
According to an arrest affidavit cited by San Antonio Express News, Wirth, of San Antonio, was apprehended after the alleged victim told her mother about the months-long sexual abuse, who then contacted police.
When interviewed by investigators, Wirth initially confessed, but then recanted before pointing a finger of blame at the 11-year-old girl for allegedly initiating the sexual encounters.
Wirth’s underage relative told the authorities that the abuse began a year ago, with the last encounter taking place sometime this past April, according to the charging document.
The 11-year-old said it all started out with Wirth showing her pornography on his cellphone and asking if she liked it, and eventually progressed to rape.
The girl said the 38-year-old man used sex toys on her, which Wirth corroborated during his interview with police, according to the affidavit.
The man also reportedly said he took showers with the child on multiple occasions.
Speaking of the sexual encounters with the young girl, Wirth told a detective that ‘any chance he got, he did it,’ and that ‘he did everything [the victim] said he did,’ according to the affidavit.
The document revealed that the assaults would take place while the 11-year-old’s mother was not home and her brother was asleep.
Wirth, who wrote on Facebook that he was in a ‘complicated’ relationship, was freed on $75,000 bail Wednesday.
