No Motive In Murders Of Five Family Members

Police in Gwinnett County Georgia responded to a report early this morning from a concerned neighbor about a domestic dispute next door. When officers arrived, they found that a woman had allegedly murdered her husband and four of her five children. The incident occurred in the town of Loganville which is located about 30 miles East of Atlanta.

Upon arrival, officers found the bodies of the woman’s husband and five children all of which were the apparent victims of stab wounds at the family home. Police said an unidentified woman had called 911 just before 5 a.m., according to a report on Fox 5 Atlanta. The Gwinnett County Police later released the following Tweet:

Officers immediately called for emergency personnel who stabilized the fifth child and transported it to the hospital with what were described as serious injuries. None of the names of the victims have yet been released by investigating officers nor has the name of the suspect. Police would only say that the four children were all under the age of 10 and that the husband was in his mid-30s.

Meanwhile, the woman was taken into custody shortly after officers arrived at the scene. One officer described it as a one of the bloodiest he had ever seen and another officer called it a “horrendous crime.” As yet, it is unknown what the motive was for the murders but it is likely that the suspect will be charged with five counts of first degree murder and one count of attempted murder.

The woman is currently being held at police headquarters and is undergoing questioning in an attempt to answer law enforcement’s questions about the crime. Neighbors told WSB-TV that the woman was in the home with the dead family members for as long as 24 hours before police had arrived.

Another person also said the family moved there from Illinois about a month ago and that the woman’s dad had recently died.
