In an eye-catching headline, the Washington Examiner exclaimed what everyone has been thinking: “At This Rate, It Won’t Matter If Trump Colluded with Russia.” Won’t matter? Isn’t that all we have heard from the Left for months now? Every major newspaper and television network has pounded it into us for months, even though we all knew it was B.S..
The accompanying story contained astute observations by Byron York who is frequently seen on Fox News, and tells how the focus of all the journalistic digging and investigative machinery has resulted in nothing and is now shifting. Most of us that live in the real world, long ago realized that the allegations were little more than sour grapes put out by the “butt hurt left” that simply cannot adjust to life under a real President that happens to be a Conservative Christian.
Just because Michael Flynn deceived the President and his advisers about his connections with foreign governments, doesn’t mean that Mr. Trump was involved. Nor that the Russians influenced our elections. Neither does it mean that Michael Flynn, doesn’t have problems related to past payments from the Russians. He does, but that is Flynn, not President Trump.
As Mr. York points out: “The problem, for the confederation of Democrats, pundits, Obama holdovers, and NeverTrumpers who hoped to see that result, has been that so far, after a lot of investigating, no evidence has emerged that collusion actually occurred.” And in my opinion, there won’t be any found. The Democrats lost the election because they forgot one thing, most Americans, are Americans, not socialist scumbags that don’t want to work and make a better life for themselves and their families.
Even more evidence of there not being any wrong doing on the part of the President and his staff is the number of leaks to the press over the last two weeks, most of which have contained allegations and innuendos the president was trying to derail the investigation. None of which have been facts, just because he fired an FBI director that most of us thought should have been fired on Day One.
The left is still trying to bring down the President, thinking if they can make it appear there is an attempted cover-up, that would be as good as collusion. But in order for there to be a cover-up, there must have been an crime at some point, and that has not been proven because it likely didn’t happen. But if the left fails to prove a crime did occur, the failure to document any “collusion” with Russia would enable Trump to say that the left and the MSM had come up empty. Proving nothing illegal had occurred.
No one knows what, if anything the special counsel, Robert Mueller, will turn up. But we seem to be moving away from the heart of the matter: the notion that Trump was somehow in Putin’s pocket. Maybe that’s because he wasn’t and still isn’t.
