This wasn’t your average hate crime. This had nothing to do with bad home training. This was an absolute manifest of pure evil.
In the latest development in the brutal Chicago torture of a white, mentally disabled man, 4 black adults have been arrested and charged, according to The Washington Post.
On Dec. 31, the 18-year-old victim met with a classmate to begin what both the victim and his parents believed would be a sleepover.
Instead, he was imprisoned in a stolen van for a couple of days, then taken to a home in Chicago. For five long hours, he was bound, beaten, cut, forced to drink from a toilet and demeaned because of his race and mental disability.
And the thugs posted it all on Facebook Live, so everyone got their 15 minutes of fame.
In addition to hate crimes, the four were charged with kidnapping, aggravated battery and aggravated unlawful restraint. Three of them were only 18 years old.
But this wasn’t just a hate crime, blogger Matt Walsh explained. It was far worse.
“It appeared that the primary motivation was not a hatred for the victim but a total indifference to him. Hate crimes must be motivated by racism, and liberals believe and have been taught that it is not possible for white people to be victims of racism,” said Walsh.
Walsh nailed it. The liberal media is all in a twist, spouting the usual pablum about disadvantaged home lives. The Washington Times reported that CNN host Don Lemon reacted to the criminals’ motivations by saying, “I don’t think it’s evil. I think these are young people, and I think they have bad home training.”
So Dylann Roof, who murdered nine black Americans in a South Carolina church as they prayed, simply had “bad home training?”
Let’s call evil what it is. Humanity without conscience, grace or redemption falls into decay. What can only be explained on the spiritual level can only be cured on the spiritual level.
Roughly 2,000 years ago, St. Peter nailed it when he wrote: “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
In plain English, evil doesn’t announce itself, but it is always on the lookout for a weak spot. Without sanctification and the strength of God above our own, people turn into the kind of monsters who manifest the same evil: culling out the weakest and most defenseless to abuse and torture.
The opposite of love isn’t necessarily hate. It can also be indifference, complete disregard for another human.
The kind of soulless, empty vessel that perpetrated this violence isn’t capable of feeling hate. These four monsters didn’t have a single heart between them.
