Popular conservative Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA) was the target of a “swatting” police call early Wednesday morning, police said.
Rep. Greenea also revealed that she immediately grabbed her gun when a SWAT team visited her home earlier that morning. But Greene said that she had a “weird gut instinct” to put her gun down before answering the door.
Police officers in Rome, Georgia, responded shortly after 1 a.m. ET to a “911 call reference to a subject being shot multiple times,” said Rome Police assistant chief Debbie Burnett. Upon arriving at the address, “they discovered this was the home of Marjorie Taylor Greene,” Burnett said.
Here’s how Rep. Greene described the situation:
“Just after 1 a.m. I was I was awakened by knocks on my door and hearing people right outside my bedroom windows and saw flashlights. I jumped up, got dressed and picked up my gun to carry with me to the door as I normally do, especially in the middle of the night, when I’m not expecting company. But I had a gut feeling, don’t carry your gun.”

“Swatting” is the action or practice of making a prank call to emergency services in an attempt to bring about the dispatch of a large number of armed police officers to a particular address. This is a dangerous prank used by the American left against their political opponents. It is very dangerous because it could lead to a violent confrontation if the police are not aware of the situation.

I can’t express enough gratitude to my local law enforcement here in Rome, Floyd County.

Rome police also said its Criminal Investigation Division is working in conjunction with the United States Capitol Police on the matter.
