There seem to be some cracking in the Democrat machine as the state of our nation’s economy continues to spiral downward.
A new report came out that showed consumer prices rising 8.5% year-over-year in March, the largest year-over-year increase since December 1981 according to the Labor Department’s Consumer Price Index (CPI).
Ouch!
For a while there, the Democrats and the mainstream media tried to frame inflation as a good thing, and then when that didn’t work, it became Putin’s fault.
Now, the American people have wised up to this charade and are angry that there is nothing better under Joe Biden and his administration.
We all knew that, but those in Biden’s own party are now seeing it and the in-fighting seems to have started.
On Tuesday, Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., blamed the Biden administration and the Federal Reserve for the recent surge in inflation.
“When is this going to end?” A statement from Manchin’s office said: “It does the American people no favors to pretend inflation is a recent phenomenon.” These numbers are a snapshot of the impacts that have been felt across America because the Federal Reserve and government did not respond quickly enough.”
“It is time for our elected officials and the Federal Reserve to take a bolder stance and stop blaming each other for our economic woes. The American people deserve to know why record inflation is taking place and what has to be done to stop it.”
Costs of food have risen by 8.8% in the last year and by 1% in March alone while fuel prices have risen by 48.6% year-on-year following a spike of 18.3% in March, according to Labor Department figures.
“Let me be clear – inflation is a tax, and today’s historic inflation report tells another chilling story about how these taxes on Americans are absolutely out of control,” Manchin said in his statement.
“It’s becoming increasingly difficult to earn a living as prices continue to rise, and those who can least afford it are feeling the heaviest burden as a result of the rising costs. Some of the highest rises in items such as petrol up 48 percent, beef up 16 percent, chicken and milk up 13 percent, and essentials like coffee up 11 percent are being seen in the United States “Eggs and cheese have risen by 11 percent.”

Because of his refusal to endorse Build Back Better at the end of last year, Manchin hinted that he may be open to backing Biden’s spending package in its current form if it were scaled back.
Here’s the truth: We cannot spend our way to a balanced, healthy economy while increasing our $30 trillion national debt,” Manchin added. It will take more forceful action from a Federal Reserve that has waited too long to act in order to rein in inflation.
Because it is the only option to reduce gas and energy prices while tackling climate change, the administration and Congress must adopt an all-of-the-above energy policy.”
As a way to boost American gas production while also aiding European friends, Manchin has called on the Biden administration to be more “open-minded” in its approach to energy policy in the wake of the Ukraine conflict.
U.S. can be energy independent from Russia and other terror-sponsoring countries, while also fighting to battle global climate change, and break our dependence on the key mineral supply change from China, Manchin stated Tuesday.
“If we don’t take quick action to alleviate the agony being felt across our country, today’s inflation number will only be the beginning. This is a problem that cannot be solved by a single political party. The people of the United States are impatient.”
