A three-year-old girl died after her mother’s superstitious boss allegedly used her as a ‘voodoo doll’ – forcing at least seven two-inch needles into her tiny body.
The mother of the young girl sought medical aid after the child began to run a fever. On July 15, the child was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
Doctors found she had suffered multiple internal injuries when seven needles forced inside the child’s small body were discovered. External injuries were also caused by needles, including ones near her genital area.
Police are reporting that a former home guard, Sanatan Thakur, who is in his mid-50s, practiced voodoo and black magic on the child.
Thakur hired her mother as a domestic worker and used the child as a voodoo doll. Reportedly, he abused the three-year-old’s body as part of a black magic ritual.
On July 18, after stabilizing the girl, doctors successfully removed all seven instruments.
But three days later, the hospital confirmed her death.
“She succumbed to sepsis and pneumonia between 2am and 3am,” a source from the hospital said.
Police have launched a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act against Sanatan Thakur, who is currently on the run and still at large.
