Man Rapes Girl, 14, With IQ of 57 and Gets Off Easy With Just 180 Days

Damarlo Crawford was arrested in April for raping the daughter of a couple for who he did odd jobs for.  The girl has an IQ of only 57. (No, it’s not Maxine Waters, although I can see why you might think that)  Crawford had walked the girl home and offered to wash the family’s car for them.

He later asked the girl if she had ever been kissed.  He then touched her sexually, removed her clothes from the waist down and raped her.  He was credited with 82 days already served and will only have to serve 98 more days minus any time off for good behavior.

Crawford has pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct and was sentenced on Thursday to six months in jail, followed by five years of probation.

A judge offered the defendant credit for 82 days served in jail from the time of his arrest, reported Minneapolis Star Tribune.

As part of his sentence, the judge ordered the teenager to register as a predatory offender, enter a treatment program and have no contact with any juvenile except for his own siblings.

While on probation, Crawford will be prohibited from consuming alcohol, using illegal narcotics or handling firearms.

Court documents state that the victim’s family knew Crawford and that he had done some oddjobs for them prior to the incident.

One afternoon in September of last year, Crawford accompanied the victim home and then offered to wash the family’s car.

While at their residence, Crawford asked the developmentally impaired girl whether she had ever been kissed before.

He then touched her in a sexual manner, took off her clothes below the waist and raped her.

A DNA sample collected from the girl during a subsequent medical examination ultimately proved that Crawford was the assailant.
Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman stated that the victim’s family have signed off on Crawford’s plea deal, saying it was ‘the best resolution.’
