A Halloween costume clearly designed to replicate Kim Kardashian’s armed robbery in Paris is causing quite a commotion.
A costume company called Costumeish is selling the “Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume Kit,” which includes a “white short sexy robe,” a black wig, a large fake ring, fake gag and two feet of rope. The entire kit is going for $69.99 on the site.
The “Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s” star is not named on the site, but it is evident in the description and photo who the costume is meant to represent.
“This Halloween it’s all about the #Hallomeme and who better than America’s goddess of all things glamorous ‘Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume?’ She has devoted her life to promoting American decadence, youth, and hedonism.” the description reads, “but all that flashy living caught up with her one night in Paris when armed men bound her, stole her jewelry and her peace of mind. This Halloween have some fun with pop culture and dress just like the Queen of Social media with our sensational ‘Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume’ Costume.”
The costume has been met with heavy criticism and outrage, with some even referring to the outfit as misogynistic. However, Costumeish has “no intentions of taking it down and it has been selling well,” according to FOX News.
“Our deepest sympathy to the family and nobody deserves to go [through] what she did,” a Costumeish rep said referring to Kardashian. “We are not mocking her, however, Halloween reflects pop culture and celebrities are no different.”
Kim Kardashian West was bound, gagged and robbed at gunpoint for several million dollars worth of jewelry earlier this month in Paris. Police are still investigating the case.
The reality television star has been silent on social media since the incident and has rarely been seen out in public.
